TERRACE – The Honourable Lt.-Gov. Steven L. Point paid a surprise visit to Northwest Community College's (NWCC) Terrace Campus March 22.
The Lieutenant-Governor had been in Prince Rupert and, with a brief opening in his schedule before a return flight to the capital, his Honour paid an unofficial visit to the College's Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Arts (FDS).
Lt.-Gov. Point met with several First Nations Fine Art students from the School – including his niece Paula Wesley – before being presented with a 2011 calendar featuring works by FDS students and instructors.
Sworn-in as B.C.'s 28th Lieutenant Governor on Oct. 1, 2007, his Honour was the keynote speaker to officially kick off NWCC’s Challenging the Paradigm conference in 2009.
I can just feel the excitement for the 1st years and the grads.... good show, nice to meet the world hey?
