Awakening: Beyond Tradition

Welcome to the online preview of our 5th annual Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art 2011 graduate exhibit.

This year we excited to see our exhibit move from the the Freda Diseing Studio to the Waap Galtsa'ap Community Longhouse on the NWCC Terrace Campus.  A variety of carvings, paintings and more from both first- and second-year students will be showcased and priced to sell.

All are invited to meet, greet, mingle and discuss the art with the artists themselves over the weekend exhibition.

My family and I went to the show last night and was absolutely blown away by the talent the students possess. All the students should be extremely proud of what they've accomplished! So much work and passion went into those pieces. Kudos to the students and instructors. Like Dr. Henning said at the opening, the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art is a diamond. I am so proud to be a part of NWCC!
